Holiday Open House – Sunday, December 10, 1 – 5 PM, Main Library!

We invite you and your family to celebrate the holiday season with us at our 21st Annual Holiday Open House!  Join us at the Main Library for a festive afternoon of music, crafts, games, stories, holiday displays, light refreshments, and other entertainment for children and adults. There will be special activities to delight all ages throughout the entire afternoon. This Holiday Open House is free to all . . . don’t forget to bring a non-perishable food item for the Holiday Food Drive!

September is LIBRARY CARD SIGN-UP MONTH! 

Residents of Fort Smith who are aged 5 and older can receive a FREE library card!  Children who are getting their first library card will also receive a free book that they can keep – no returns necessary!  For information on how sign up for a Fort Smith Public Library card, click here.

Arkansas Teen Book Award - It's Your Vote that Counts

Last year, teens across Arkansas voted I Am Still Alive by Kate Alice Marshall as the winner of the Level 1 (Grades 7-9) Arkansas Teen Book Award.  The Cruel Prince by Holly Black was the runner-up.  The Level 2 winner (Grades 10-12) was Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson, and the runner-up was On the Come Up by Angie Thomas.  Voting opened for the 2020-2021 nominees on September 25, 2020 and will run through August 31, 2021.  Any Arkansas teen can vote for Level 1, Level 2, or both!
