Library Lovers' Month

Library Lovers' Month

February is National Library Lovers' Month.  What’s that you say?  You LOVE the library every month!  In case anyone needs reminding, here are 10+ reasons to love libraries, and especially your library!

  1. Libraries are FREE (with your library card). Even if you don’t have a library card, most library resources at the library can be utilized without a card for FREE.
  2. Libraries are open to everyone.
  3. You can take home books, magazines, DVDs, and other materials from the library without having to purchase them. (See how much you’re saving by looking at the bottom of your check out receipt!)
  4. Use quiet spaces for reading, working, or studying.  Study rooms are available on a first come, first served basis at all FSPL locations.
  5. Utilize the library’s free Wi-Fi and public access computers at all FSPL locations. You can access Wi-Fi from our parking lots, even when we are closed.
  6. Attend one of our many storytimes, book clubs, crafting programs, films, other programs for kids, teens, and adults, and special events being held each month at our four locations. Find out more about our events here.
  7. Build your family tree with one of our genealogy databases, or with assistance from our knowledgeable genealogy staff.
  8. Use a FREE meeting room for your club, non-profit or community organization, or for your training purposes. Meeting rooms are available at all FSPL locations. Find out more about our meeting rooms here.
  9. Enjoy your favorite drink, snack, or sandwich at Dewey’s Café at the Main Library.
  10. Are you a homebody? Stream or download eBooks, audiobooks, movies, TV shows, and more from the comfort of your home using hoopla, Libby/Overdrive, kanopy, and more online resources.
  11. Of course there are many more reasons to love your library.  Visit our website to discover more, or stop by your local library soon and find YOUR reasons to love the library!
