Art Exhibits and Displays

The Fort Smith Public Library offers several opportunities for community members to exhibit their artwork, photography, non-profit displays, and personal collections.  If you are interested in having your artwork or display featured at the library, please complete the application below.  A library staff member will contact you once your application is received and reviewed.

The Main Library includes 3 locations for display cases and art exhibits:

  • Rotunda Display Cases – The two glass display cases located in the rotunda (main entrance of the library) are designated for library use, display of community artwork or collections, or displays by area clubs or non-profit groups.  Each case is approximately 70 inches wide by 70 inches tall and is 11 ½ inches deep, with three shelves in each. Displays change monthly.
  • Community Room – Artwork and photography displayed in the Community Room must be framed or gallery wrapped canvas and able to be installed on the existing hanging rail.  There are 15 to 20 works generally exhibited at one time.  No tape or other adhesive may be affixed to the walls.  Exhibits in the Community Room are generally on display for two months, depending on library programming.
  • Dewey's Cafe – Artwork and photography exhibited in the Dewey's Cafe are displayed on wall hooks and easels. There are 10 to 15 works generally displayed at one time.  Exhibits in Dewey's Cafe are on display for two months.
  • Branch Library Displays – Artwork and photography exhibited at the branch libraries are displayed on floor easels.  Artists may also provide their own easels for shelf-top display with permission from the branch manager.
