Select the branch where you’d like to pick the item up, then click “Submit.”
Items that are on the shelf will generally be available for pick up within 24-48 hours. Items that are checked out will be available once they are returned and checked in.
Customers may place up to 25 hold requests at a time. Items will be held for pickup for five days after the customer is notified that they are ready.
Most library materials may be renewed twice, as long as they are not already on hold for another customer. Renewals may be made online, in person, or by telephone. For online access to your account, request a password in person at any library location.
The Fort Smith Public Library is part of an international resource sharing network of libraries. If you are looking for an item that is not available in our library system, we can try to borrow it from another library. We will notify you once it has arrived and you can pick it up at the FSPL location of your choice. We are not able to borrow items published within the last six months. For additional information, see our Interlibrary Loan policy. If you are interested in requesting an item from another library, please complete the Interlibrary Loan Request form.
The library offers over 6,000 downloadable audiobooks and over 24,000 eBooks for free through Library2Go (Overdrive), with more titles being added all the time. Library2Go titles are compatible with all major computer and mobile device operating systems including Apple, Android, Amazon Kindle (e-reader and Fire), and Windows. A free mobile app is also available. See the User Guides page for specific instructions for your device.
Books checked out through Library2Go are returned automatically and no overdue fines are charged. A library card in good standing is required to use Library2Go.
If you checked the online catalog and cannot find the title that you want, you can suggest that the library purchase the item.
