Tax Forms and Preparation Assistance

During tax season, the Fort Smith Public Library has paper copies of federal and state tax forms available, while supplies last.  Tax forms may also be printed from the IRS website.  Up to 25 pages of blank forms may be printed at no charge at the library.  Additional pages will be charged at the library’s standard per page rate.  Instructions that accompany the forms may be printed for $.25 per page.

Available forms include the Federal 1040 and 1040-SR forms and instructions, and the Arkansas State Income Tax forms/instruction booklets.  Forms are available at all FSPL locations.

Volunteers with the AARP Foundation’s Tax-Aide program offer free federal and state tax preparation assistance.  There are no age or income restrictions.  The Windsor Drive Branch is one of several locations where assistance is available.  Services will be available beginning January 30 and running through April 12, 2024.  Tax assistance is available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Appointments are not required, but a limited number of customers can be helped each day. Individuals who arrive after the maximum number of returns have been received will be asked to return on another day.
