YA Virtual Escape Room
President Snow (Hunger Games), Bellatrix Lestrange (Harry Potter), and Jeanine Matthews (Divergent) have banded together to form one master plan to take over and make captives of their subjects, controlling their minds and stealing their wills. Never backing down from a fight, you vow to stop them and restore freedom. However, Simon (One of Us is Lying), secretly working for Snow, sneaks out one night to gather intel on your plan and rats you out. Snow sends out his Great Kami Dragon to capture you, locking you deep inside a maze of five doors. There is no escape. Or is there?
Escape Rooms
What are they? Why are they so in? I’m assuming most of you know what an escape room is, but just in case, I’ll explain. An escape room is a game where players are confined to a room with a specific theme or setting and are given a set amount of time to escape, using clues and puzzles. Often times, combination locks are used and participants are required to crack the codes. The “win” lies in making it out of the room in the allotted amount of time. The appeal of these escape rooms seems to be the recreating of a dangerous situation and then the victory of escaping to freedom.
Since the pandemic started, many escape rooms have temporarily closed their doors. Even as they begin to reopen, a large percentage of people are hesitant to venture out. That’s where we come in! Libraries across the country have created virtual escape rooms to give you the same thrill completely risk-free.
