Focus on Teens

Teens! The year is coming to an end, and we have had so much fun at Teen Lounge. For those who don’t know, Teen Lounge is a monthly after-school program where teens in grades 7-12 can come hang out, enjoy a snack, and participate in a craft or other activities.

Some highlights from this past year include special-effects makeup workshops, a fandom party, cupcake wars, and DIY locker magnets. In the year to come, our goal is to continue providing you with a safe, inclusive space to be yourself and have fun.  Without fully disclosing future events, let’s just say there’s a lot in store for Teen Lounge this year. We’ll be exploring artistic methods of relaxation, envisioning goals for the future, and tapping into our creative sides. And of course, there will be cheese balls! Teen Lounge is a free event held on the last Monday of the month from 4:00-5:30PM. We hope to see you all there!

In the meantime, be sure to stay warm and check out some of these winter-themed books: Let It Snow, by John Green, Lauren Myracle, and Maureen Johnson; What Light, by Jay Asher; Trapped, by Michael Northrop; After the Snow, by S.D. Crockett; We Are Okay, by Nina LaCour, Love & Other Train Wrecks, by Leah Konen; Almost Midnight, by Rainbow Rowell; and The Gathering Storm, by Robin Bridges.
