Program Description

Program Description

The Fort Smith Public Library has partnered with Center for Arkansas Legal Services to bring three Zoom online programs to our library users starting September 15. These presentations are conducted by legal experts and are funded by grants to provide free legal services to low income individuals residing in the state of Arkansas.

Session 2 is Public Benefits/Record Sealing - Explore public benefits including unemployment insurance, SNAP benefits, Medicare/Medicaid, stimulus checks, Social Security Insurance/Social Security Disability Insurance, and housing assistance such as Section 8 Vouchers, Rural Development Program, or Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program. Legal staff will also present the positive outcomes of sealing a criminal record, including what records are sealable, how a record is sealed, and assistance that is available to navigate the process.

This a virtual event (on Zoom) and registration is required. Please register for the sessions you would like to attend. After signing up, you will receive an email confirming your registration for the session and on the day of the event, you will receive an email containing the Zoom link. Register here bit.ly/2Y3zHxL
