It's time for a break--a Biography Break!  Real people are fascinating, and it is fun to learn more about them.  Join Ms. Robin online at Facebook or YouTube for this Arkansas Diamond Style biography break!

Everyone knows the names Venus and Serena Williams. They work hard, they win championships, and they changed tennis forever. Sisters & Champions - The True Story of Venus and Serena Williams is written by Howard Bryant, an award-winning sports journalist who knows the Williams family personally. It tells of the sisters' journey from a barely-there tennis court in Compton, California to becoming the #1 ranked women in the sport of tennis. It was illustrated by Floyd Cooper and published by Philomel Books.

The Arkansas Diamond Primary Book Award is designed to encourage reading for students in Kindergarten through third grade.  Students read and/or listen to at least three titles from the nominated books and vote for their favorite book in the spring.  The award is coordinated by the Arkansas State Library.
