Program Description

Arkansas author Anita Beeler Downs will appear at the Fort Smith Public Library to promote and sign copies her children’s book Persons of Speech. The book is a collection of four separate stories told with rhyming verses about characters who share their names with the part of speech they are illustrating.  Nancy Noun in her wedding gown explains what a noun is while Pete Pronoun is quite the clown scattering pronouns across the pages. Vera Verb takes us on adventures from deserts to city suburbs while Adjective Annie teaches us the importance of adjectives in our sentence structures.

Anita Beeler Downs is a local author who lives outside of Magazine, Arkansas. She was a homeschooling mom for many years during which time the "Persons of Speech" stories were realized. She is a social worker at a local nursing and rehabilitation center.  Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing at this open-house style event.
