Program Description
New York POP artist Michael Albert has been creating art since his college days at New York University. His art has evolved from doodles and pen & ink, to serious wax oil drawing, to the cubist mosaic cereal box collages for which he has become known. Mr. Albert is also the author of the children's book, An Artist's America. This book features reproductions of collages which form the basis of Albert's introduction to his own artistic journey and passion for promoting the use of recycled materials in art. This is a unique opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop with a professional artist. The workshop is free and is designed for teens and adults. Supplies will be provided, but if participants have a favorite cereal box, they are welcome to bring it. Seating is limited; be sure to register today at 783-0229 or online at www.fortsmithlibrary.org A program for children and families with the artist will take place at 2 PM.
