Travel Resources on the Internet
Listed here are some sites that may help you with your travel plans. We have links to several online airline and
hotel sites, as well as online travel tips & planning, and links to
current weather information. Check out our travel safety links, and if you need directions or a city map,
we have also listed several online map sites. To get information about a specific place, you can find it by
searching Yahoo, or one of the many other Internet search tools.
The library is also a great source for current travel books. Our travel books are located in the 917's of the Non-Fiction section.
- Biztravel.com — Focusing on services for business travelers, this site lets you book
airline, hotel, and car reservations in one step.
- Expedia — This site, maintained by Microsoft, is another place where you can purchase airline
tickets online and make hotel and car reservations. You can also use the driving destination planner if you plan a driving trip.
- Finding people and businesses at your destination.
- Fodor's Online — The online version of the popular tour guides.
- L.A. Times' Travel Sourcebook -- a great source for information
about getting passports, cruise ship information, and more -- including a "Reader Recommendations" section and a "Where to Complain"
section.

Park Search — this site, maintained by LL Bean, provides access to a large database
of state and national parks and forests.
- Travelocity — This site offers trip planning, online airline ticket ordering, hotel and
car reservations, and more. Includes a Destination Guide where you can find out more information about where you are going.
- Yahoo's Travel Tips / Planning — A good list of sites
that range from word of mouth advice, to actual cruise lines.
- Yahoo's Destination Guides — A list of sites that give
detailed accounts of activities that are available.
- Earthwatch — an on-line three-dimensional weather site.
- IntelliCast — weather reports for the U.S. and the world, including updates on current
weather conditions, weather history, and other interesting stuff.
- National Weather Service in Tulsa — get information on Oklahoma and Arkansas weather
- Weather Channel On-Line — the Weather Channel On-Line, with up-to-the-minute
updates on all weather in the U.S.
- The Weather Underground — find weather for any city, state, or country in the world
(in either Fahrenheit or Celsius)
- Yahoo's Weather Forecasts — site is searchable by zip code or city name, and includes
links to other weather resources of interest
Major Airlines
- Mapblast!--provides interactive maps, driving directions, lodging
information, and traffic reports. You must first register but registration is free.
- MapsOnUs — allows you to view maps of cities large and small, find out how to get there,
and even check out area businesses.
- MapQuest! Interactive Atlas — this site can help you find a place, plan a trip, or get
directions, among other things.
